StillTold is built for deeply personal stories. This policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, and the choices available to you.
Information we collect
We collect account details such as your name and email address; tribute content such as names, dates, stories, photographs, captions, and theme choices; visitor memories and optional visitor email addresses; messages sent through our contact form; and limited technical information used for security and aggregate page analytics.
How we use information
We use this information to operate accounts and tribute pages, provide editing and sharing features, moderate memories, answer support and privacy requests, protect the service from abuse, and understand basic service usage.
AI-assisted drafting
When an account holder chooses the AI drafting feature, the information entered into that assistant is sent to OpenAI to generate an editable draft. Do not submit sensitive details you do not have permission to share. AI drafts may contain errors and must be reviewed before publishing.
Public, unlisted, and private pages
Public tribute pages can be viewed by anyone and may appear in search engines. Unlisted pages are available to anyone with the link but are not intentionally listed publicly. Private pages are limited to the account owner and StillTold administrators. No online service can guarantee that a recipient will not copy content they can view.
Service providers and disclosure
We use hosting, database, email-delivery, and AI service providers to operate StillTold. We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect people or the service, or as part of a business transfer subject to appropriate safeguards.
Retention and deletion
We retain account and tribute information while an account remains active and as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, and document the service. You may request access, correction, export, unpublishing, or deletion through our contact form. Some limited records may be retained when legally or operationally necessary.
Security
We use access controls, encrypted connections, password hashing, restricted configuration files, and routine backups. No system is completely secure, so account holders should use a unique password and avoid publishing information they want to remain confidential.
Children
StillTold is not directed to children under 13, and children should not create accounts or submit personal information without a parent or guardian.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected by a new effective date. Questions or privacy requests can be submitted through the contact form.
